Ugh, what a gross run this morning. I haven't: "rolled out of bed, get dressed, get water and head out the door at 4:45am" in a long time. This morning was a seriously slow 6km run. At least it loosened my legs and back up a bit and overall I did enjoy being out. It was warm this morning - 17 degrees- which is what according to the Weather Network will be the temps there or about on race day.
While this morning wasn't great, it did give an opportunity to test out what I am wearing on race day. Yeah, I know I'm a geek but I like to try to be prepared ok?
Shorts:

Yeah, they are kind of soccer-ish but they have built in compression shorts THAT DON'T RIDE UP so me likey.
Shirt:

Wicked HeatGear shirt. If it is too hot, I have a light coloured back up Tshirt to bring...which will show off my sweat so well.
(I'm not trying to be an advertisement for Under Armour....I like their HeatGear stuff as I sweat so freakin' much. If Under Armour wants to send me stuff......feel free!)
The husband is already in Ottawa on business. He arrived at the hotel we are staying at late but had called to tell them he would be later. We booked 2 queen beds at the back of the hotel way back in February. They put him in a room with a king bed at the front of the hotel. Yelling is about to ensure.
Current plan is for me and my travelling companions to leave tomorrow around 10:30 and hopefully be in Ottawa around 4pm. Friday is just going to be chilling out and catching up with the rest of our group. The husband is racing the 10km Sat night at 6:30 so that will be fun to watch him. He is looking to really push it in the race so at least he will sleep well that night.
Good luck to everyone running this weekend. Again, I am not going to focus so much on time but to really enjoy the race and stick to a consistent pace. Bring it on Ottawa!
